How in the @*%# do you attach the hose to a Dyson DC07 vacuum!?!? We got ours used with no manual…….. Grrrr……. :-P

frillyfroofroo replied: "I think they have a website and, if so, there’s probably a customer service or online manual there. Hope so."

Dyson DC07 – Why can’t I get my wand into the hose to use the upright? It’s new — I vacuumed the stairs using the hose and attachments, but when I try to put the wand into the hose to do the floors, it locks (right where the attachments would lock).

Likestoanswer replied: "When you put the wand in the hose, do it in a quick twisting motion so the locking mechanism will not catch. There should be a button on the hose you can press to release the lock."

emptypocketsmw replied: "I have a DC17 and if we are talking about the same piece, you need to reverse it – put it in upside down. Hope this helps."

Dyson DC07? I have the above floor cleaner and when I first got it, worked fine…the last couple times I have used it when its set to carpet, then it starts out working fine and then starts making a very weird sound (like it may be "eating": something, like it gets stuck in a position) but the roller bar is clear. i shut it off, start it again and it works fine for a few more minutes the the cycle starts over.

As I said this only happens when it is set to carpet mode, for bare floors and to use the hose it works fine. think is when I try to do the carpets on bare floor mode it wont pick up anything 9not sure how it knows since it does pick up on bare floors) but in any case

Yes I bought it new (well it was on clearance)…no I didnt fill out the warranty card (I was in a transitional period and actually it stayed in my storage facility for about 6 months) and then when I started to use it it would have been past the waaranty period anyway(give or take a couple months).
anyone have fix?

T C replied: "sounds like the belt is slipping"

is there any way to take my dyson hose apart? i have a dc07 and it has the reversible hose attachment…i need to get the handle part of the hose away from the aluminum hose..the damn thing was so powerful it stole a sock and now its stuck!! is there anyway to take this apart? they make dysons so well i cant figure out how to tear it apart haha

Dyson DC07 Making VERY loud noise? Hi all
can any of you help
Q: I have a dyson dc07 that has been working very well up until now, it is making a very loud noise when using in auto mode as an up right but its perfectly ok when using the hose, what would cause this ??
I have looked at what you both have said and im still not sure, the brush seems ok but there does seem to be a rattle like two washers banging together, how do i get to the part that drives the belt ??

sheetwowsheet replied: "As far as I know, when using the hose the brushes don’t rotate, so if it’s only making a noise when used as an upright then it could be the brush bearings have gone. See if the brushes are sloppy and banging about making the noise."

cezar t replied: "It is a mechanical issue, something like a loose screw or nut at the motor,a dry(no grease) bearing, etc!!!"

How do you clean a Dyson vacuum cleaner? We have a Dyson dc07 Animal. My husband was trying to be more wonderful than he usually is, and he cleaned up a mess left by our cat. In doing this he used baking soda to absorb the wetness and then vacuumed it up. Well now everytime we use the vacuum it smells like our cat peed in it. I need to clean it, including the hose. Has anyone done this? How?

I am currently looking at the Dyson website for help too.
Thanks

Crystal replied: "I’m going to guess one of you best bets would be to obviously take out all removable filters and clean them throughly foloowing the directions with them. next I would take an air compressor to it take it outside and blow the heck out of it. all the cyclones and hose and then u could take the hose off and soak it in a bucket of white vinegar and dump baking soda down it. rinse well and then use the air compressor again to dry it out. lay everypiece out for about 12-20 hours to dry. hopefully that help but big E for effort to your man for trying. I have a DC15 and loooove it!!!!"

Dyson DC07 Animal Vacuums? I’ve read the great reviews, but I’m hoping that someone who owns one of these can help me out. We have two white cats and our furniture and rugs are darker colors, meaning they get hair on everything! My main problem is that the throw rugs are a puffy fabric and seem to attract cat hair and dust (I can’t describe it exactly, but they are like a swiffer cloth). Our current vacuum does nothing and I even go over the whole floor with the hose and the hair still won’t leave. It’s embarrassing because we have people over and clean right before they arrive and the house still looks like crap. I just want to know how this product would work for me? I’m skeptical because if I can’t get this hair out with the actual hose on my vacuum now, how will the dyson get it out for me?

Jenny C replied: "Hi, The Kenmore progressive vacuum and the Eureka Boss smart Ultra are the two highest rated vacuums for pet hair by consumer reports magazine. They actually outperformed the dyson on picking up pet hair. Hope this helps."

brilock1 replied: "we have the dc07 and its a good hoover for our old english sheepdog. you must get one with rotating brushes the ones the just suck cannot get all the hair off. i would imagine that any cleaner with rotating brushes and a good vacuum would do just as well."

Hermione replied: "We have a dyson which we bought because everyone kept raving about how great they were and its crap – well, its OK but the same as any other hoover as far as I’m concerned. Its not the DC07 but I imagine they’re all over-rated and way more expensive than other brands"

what is the part number/name on a dyson that goes from the bottom of the hose to the underside of the vacuum? think i’m missing a bit from my (given) dyson dc07 allergy turquoise/purple hoover. need a part number/ name so i can get a part on the internet. any ideas?
got a dyson dc07 root cyclone hepa/ allergy +. its a purple and turquoise thing. there is a flexible coil/ transparent hose next to it but there is definitely a bit missing.

Corky R replied: "Well, first off you need to decide which brand vacuum you have. Dyson and Hoover are two distinctly different brands and even more different vac’s. Personally I’d take a Hoover over a Dyson any day. When you figure it out post it as an edit and we may be able to help."

chevvyl replied: "Dyson has a web page, maybe you can get more info from that. Bought a Dyson today, but inadvertently put all paperwork/web particulars back in box, and chucked it into garage loft. Sorry can`t be more help. Why not try your local domestic appliance repair man. Got it!!! Son found it."
